(2-CD set) In the ‘Roots of Rock’n’Roll’ series, this volume focuses on 1950 – a year of verve, invention, rhythm and humour – the ingredients for pure Rock’n’Roll. Competition is strong between the newcomers from Rhythm & Blues – Fats Domino, La Vern Baker, Ruth Brown – and those from a Country Music background – Tennessee Ernie Ford, Charline Arthur and Lefty Frizzel.
