The stylish guitar phrases reminiscent of Robert Cray, Ellis Hooks embodies the finest of Blues and Soul; his voice, evocative of greats such as Little Milton, Sam Cooke and Otis Redding, is nevertheless his own; his luscious baritone a trademark. His emotional realism is what makes Hooks larger than the sum total of his individual influences; one of the most exciting young Blues voices today.
