Budget-priced compilation was drawn from the Solid Air Records stable of artists, who represent a terrific sampling of instrumental acoustic blues in a variety of styles. From Kenny Sultan’s opening track “West Coast Blues,” which recalls Big Bill Broonzy, to Laurence Juber’s slow, grinding & bluesy version of the Beatles’ “Can’t Buy Me Love”. This is a perfect collection for blues fans who are sick of whining, imitative vocals.
