While disco music was flourishing from the mid 1970’s through the early 1980’s, The City of Brotherly Love spawned their own unique take on the music – combining the best elements of Philly soul to make disco music more palatable to fans of classic soul music. This compilation focuses on a wide array of artists from the period that brought a little something new to the disco scene – from Doris Troy and Arthur Prysock to Ruth “Silky” Waters, Philly Devotions, Wardell Piper, Touch Of Class and more. All selections have been newly remastered.
