Throughout his career, Max Kortlander played and arranged pieces for piano roll recordings for QRS Recording Laboratories, and in 1931 he became the company’s president. This album is a tribute to Kortlander’s work as “composer of extraordinary rags, brilliant roll arranger of pop tunes of the day, and magnificent performer of hand-played piano rolls.”
