Renowned British singer-songwriter Tom Yates sure must go down as one of the most innovative under-the-radar folk acts of the 1970s. His stunningly captivating lyrics, paired with his serene yet poignant brand of acoustic folk music, drew from Celtic culture to focus on his preoccupations and concerns with modern-day life. Newly remastered for 2021, his 1973 album ‘Love Comes Well Armed’ is brimming with rich textures and heavily evocative acoustic guitar on tracks including ‘Bye Bye Bohemia’, ‘City Lights’ and ‘Before I Die’.
