Any album of unreleased Kingston Trio material would be big news, but when it’s the original line-up of Bob Shane, Dave Guard and Nick Reynolds recorded at the height of the late ’50’s folk revival… now that’s a find! a mere four months after this appearance at the 1959 Newport Folk Festival, the ‘Trio had four albums in the Top 10, and you can hear the electricity in the air as they run through the live versions of their best-known songs from their first three albums, including M.T.A.; Scotch and Soda; All my Sorrows; Hard Ain’t It Hard; Saro Jane; Zombie Jamboree; Three Jolly Coachmen, and more. David “Buck” Wheat accompanies on acoustic bass. Historic!
