Singer-songwriter Nanci Griffith’s seventh album finds her looking inward and delivering the results of her introspection. “These Days in an Open Book” and “Goodnight to a Mother’s Dream” are depictions of resilience from a distinctly feminine perspective, where she comes to terms with her life as it is, and generously shares those intimacies.
