From the groovy Sunset Strip, to the cool waters of the Pacific, L.A.’s sprawling and ever expanding musical landscape of the late 60s had a lot to offer. Standing as one of the great soul rarities of it’s time, Chuck Bridges and The L.A. Happening’s 1969 debut and only LP accurately captures a snapshot of the musical landscape that this excellent band briefly called home. Featuring a sumptuous mix of Soul, Jazz, Rock, and Pop and featuring a wonderful ensemble of big horns, smooth guitars and funky rhythms, this staple of the collectors market stands as a testament to the strength of the young and exciting acts this wonderful state had to offer.
