The scene: A late-nite party in Laredo, Texas; Plaza Hotel. The players: foremost, legendary jazz pianist Red Camp, with sidekick trumpeter Dude Skiles; in the background, close friends of the musicians. The sound: swinging blues, boogie-woogie, funky piano-dominated jazz; some accents with trumpet and vocals. Rehearsal: none, impromptu take. Result: addictive listening.
