This 25-year anniversary release sounds like it could have been recorded last week in Nashville or 50 years ago in New York. It’s been remastered by Richard Dodd (Tom Petty, Wilco) and remixed by Martin Sexton and Danny Bernini (The Fray, James Blunt) from the original analog 24-track reels. The new mix further highlights the nuances and magic of these performances by bringing out the classic b3, grand piano and old Fender amps and guitars through vintage Neumann microphones and captures what RollingStone calls Sexton’s “soul-marinated voice.” Known as the album that put Sexton on the map (with songs like “Diner” and “Glory Bound.”), Black Sheep is a critically-acclaimed, favorite that continues to garner multiple film and television placements year after year.1.
