This “salty selection” of sea songs includes samples from 30 “Sea Song” albums in the Folkways catalogue. It is a solid introduction to the music that lightened the burden of work aboard ships and provided entertainment to off-duty sailors. Tracks include recordings by Pete Seeger, the X-Seaman’s Institute, and field recordings.
