Howard’s Hewett’s Platinum-selling debut has him embrace his former band Shalamar’s break-up with a renewed sense of purpose and ambition. Hit songs “I’m For Real” and “Say Amen” show his range as an artist and vocalist; the first is a seductive love song and the latter is crowd-rousing gospel. He nails them both.
