Southland presents one of the most legendary members of that generation of honkin’, bar-walkin’ rhythm & blues tenor saxophonists that energized audiences in the late 1940s & early ’50s. These masters were acquired from the Fabulous Joe Houston himself, and they recall those happy, honking postwar days. Songs include “Flying Home,” “Earthquake,” “Go Joe Go,” “Cornbread & Cabbage” & others.
