A very cool and bluesy funk/soul record from Gloria Lynne, a voice so universally appealing as to defy categorization, that broke the barriers of Pop, Jazz and R&B with her monumental hit, “I Wish You Love.” a great collection of some of the finest funk and jazz players adorn the album presented here, including Robert “Pops” Popwell on bass; Paul Humphrey on drums; Al Vescovo and Mike Deasy on guitars; Paul Hornsby on piano; Victor Feldman on vibraphone; the Macon Horn Section featuring Gene “Bowl Legs” Miller and a string section arranged by Art Freeman. Originally released in 1970, “Happy And in Love” finally makes it’s debut in the digital realm. All selections newly re-mastered.
